PROJECT FOUR:

LEGO BOT

LEGO WALL

We chose Quest 2, which required us to construct an object that was made up of one color, and only that color. We took it a step further and only made the object with the same pieces, along with the pieces all being red. We thought it would be cool to construct a wall, because we knew our Lego Bot would have to hide behind it, and a wall seemed to make the most sense.

EXPLANATION OF THE PROGRAM

We began our program by making the robot slowly approach the cube on the table because we loved the concept of making the robot disable a bomb. The Lego Bot then stopped when it was four centimeters away from the cube, lowered its arm, and turned with the cube to carry it away. It was then able to drop the cube off, turn around, run away, and then hide behind the monochromatic wall structure we created for it. We thought our entire process went along witht he plot line given to us about the robot picking up a bomb, putting it far away, and then running away as it "went off".

The way we programmed was mostly guess and check. While we did follow a lot of the same program Jeff Goodman created for his Lego Bot, we altered the speeds and the end f the pattern to make our bot run away faster, turn around, and slowly hide behind our wall structure.
